Have nothing on Puerto Rico Salazar. However did have elders story at one time that one of conquestidores who accompanied Ponce de Leon, De Soto possibly Cortez may have stopped off in Puerto Rico.
to my knowledge my ancestors were mostly with Coronado, Onate, etcc and came in present day AZz NM & CO via AZZ--San Pedro River into Arizona north and then east into NM also many followed the Rio Grande River north.
But perhaps a family member of Don Juan de Salazar--1st conquestidor to be in Nueva Espana spent time in PR enroute to Argentina, Mexico, present day US as stated above. There possibly a brother and sons, grandsons who in returning to
Espana, Portugal, stopped in PR. A geneological site exhists www.oz.net/~cyndihow/spain.html in that same website, there is info regarding azores, puerto rico etc. I do not read or write Spanish, French, Italian, or Portugese--some of the reports are in those languages.
