The Salazar family in Brazil

While the Salazar Family Forum mentions mostly information on members in Spain, Portugal, Mexico, USA, as well as other latin american countries, I found no messages about the brazilian branch.
From sources in my family I learned that from Spain our ancestors migrated to Portugal where the name is quite familiar because of Antonio Salazar, ruler of the country for many years as Prime Minister.
Portugal ruled over Brazil from 1500 to 1822 and always had, naturally, a great influence on Brazil's population and culture
As far as I know, three states in Brazil, Pernambuco, Minas Gerais and Rio de Janeiro ( as far as I know ) concentrate most Salazars and some are quite interested in locating their origin.
