I am a 2nd cousin to Ken Salazar who is currently running for Atty Gen. for state of Colo. Grew up with his dad Henry who is my fathers first cousin. I too was born in same area as Ken and his brothers and sisters. I have Salazars to 1425, Ken and I are 17 generation of Salazars in current USA. We are also 17 generation Cantu's. Need info on that family as well. I am writing a family history book starting with Don Juan de Salazar (1425)of Auvergne, France,; to current day. I too have followed the paths of the Salazar's from France, Espana, Argentina, Mexico and into the present day sites of Arizona (San Pedro River route) to Little Colorado River across to the Zuni Villages, to Albuquerque via route current day Hi 66 (I-40) then to Santa Fe where family established self--involved in politics and Indian wars, then on to Espanola Valley, NM, and into the San Luis Valley in South Central Colorado. Few opthers entered route of El Paso del Norte along the Rio Grande River to Santa Fe and Espanola Valley. I havve listed approximately 950 names in my four basic family names---Salazar, Garcia, Cantu & Mestas (Maestas). Would like to exxchange info if you have any to offer. Thanks.
