Greetings.

Maybe itīs too late, but...

I live in the Basque Country (Bilbao), in Spain. There have been Salazar living here for quite a lot of centuries (7 or more), with written testimonies of the name.

In fact, the word is basque (for "old hall" or "old palace") and it may come from the valley of Salazar, in Navarra, just in the frontier with France, and in the Basque region too.
