According to Origins of New Mexico Families by Fray
Angelico Chavez, the parents of Lucia de Salazar
Salas or Hurtado) were Andres Hurtado (ae 33 yrs in
1661, b. Zacatecas) and Bernardina de Salas y Orozco
(or de Salas y Trujillo, or Osorio). Bernardina was
the grandaughter of Maria de Vera. Andres was dead
by 1680, and his family was fortunate enough to escape
the massacre, and returned during the Reconquest in
1693 to NM. (ONMF, p49)
