Salazars in Puerto Rico

We are a family of Salazars in Puerto Rico. We can trace our family back six generations, to around the mid 1800's. We can't get information from before that time because the record burned down in a church fire. Thus, we are not sure whether our family originally migrated to the island from Venezuela or another S. American country during the revolutions in the early 1800's, or if we are descendants of early Spanish settlers, or arrived in some other colonial period. If anyone knows anything about Caribbean Salazars, or the like, please leave a message. Thanks.
