Hi Eva,

I just discover this site and I'm happy to see how many Salazar are spread all over the world.

As far I can understand Italy is underrepresented in this forum and I believe to be the only Italian Salazar entering into it.

I'm from Naples, city in which also exists a "piazza" entitled to my family, and I'm the only survivor from the "neapolitan" line of the family. Another line exists in Reggio di Calabria.

I was touched reading your name...
Eva Salazar was the name of my grandmother; she desappeared in 1998 when she was 98 years old (she was born exactly the same year and the same day of the Queen Mother of England!)

In principles the origins of our Family are Spanish and not Portuguese (even if the most famous Salazar, up to now, is the Protuguese Dictator). Last year I was in Spain looking for my (our...?!?) origins and I found the original Castle near Bilbao. From there my ancients moved to Naples during the Spanish occupation in the Kingdom of Naples. Many informations on Lope Garcia de Salazar are also provided in the Basque Enciclopedy.

I hope you will be reached by this message Eva and feel free to contact me...
