Yup, Samdy, we're cousins.I R who you think I R.
I *think* I knew about the added 's' at the end.A bell rang when I read that.(A dim, quiety one...)
I got the info on Charles W. hitting ESL from...Ahhh...Can't remember exactly. It was from a newspaper from way, way back that had been entered onto The 'Net.I *think* from an Ava paper?Dongla paper?ESL paper???I'll have to see if I can dig it up when I get home.And/or re-do the 'Net search.
Know how they used to do the little blurbs about so-and-so visiting so-and-so from Where Ever, having tea, what they wore and that kind'a stuff? It was a thing like that.If I'm remembering correctly, it [the blurb] was talking about what a nice man Charles W. was...Think he was visiting Phoenie.Or was it about their wedding?
Say, if you've got the Bible, or still have access to it, and it shows James and Lyda getting married...Did James' name have an 's' on the end?Or does it just say that James and Lyda got married and it's foregone that it's a Salmons' Bible?Like, did whomever write the last name at any time? And if so was the 's' only on there after CW?And said still another way, does the Bible back up Uncle Emmett's history at all?(Speaking o'Uncle Emmett...In the 1930 Census his name is spelled "Emmeth."LOL!!!)
Thanks for the info, Samdy.I'll see what I can dig up with what you've given me.If I find anything, I'll let you know!
love,
mk
