John Salsburg, Wyoming County, NY 1860

In researching my husband's gr gr gr grandfather, Eugene B. Ketcham, I found a child, with the name Eugene, and the same age, living in the household of John Salsburg in Wyoming County,NY.

Eugene's parents were Daniel Ketcham and Harvilla Kendal-as stated on his death certificate. He was born in NY and we can't seem to find any other information. Eugene served in the Civil war and settled in Manton, Wexford County, MI.

Do any of the Salsburg family members have information on this John and do you have any idea why he would have a child name Eugene Ketcham in his household? Could he have been an apprentice or step child? I would appreciate any help here.

Thank you!
