Robert Samuels filed for divorce from Jane (Gilmore) Samuels in Feb. 1819 it was granted in June 1819. Crawford County, IN. Robert Samuels married Jemima Awbrey Oct. 28, 1819 Crawford County, IN. In the 1820 Crawford County, Census they had a daughter under five. I don't know if this was her daughter or their's. That is they only record I have found for Jemimia. On April 26, 1821 he married Sarah Montgomery she died Oct, 1839 Harrison County, IN, on Oct. 20, 1840 he married Margaret Long, Harrison, County, IN they moved to MO sometime after that.
I believe that Robert was the son of John Samuels Sr and Deliah Hawkins Samuels. John Samuels family seems to be the only Samuels family in Crawford County at that time. Although Robert married Jane Gilmore in Harrison County, Crawford County did not become a county until 1818 so Harrison County would have been the place to get their marriage License in 1813. In early Crawford County Commissioners meeting records Robert Samuels name appears along with his John Samuels Sr and other family members. Also Robert bought a farm in Crawford County, 1821 The first record I have found that he bought land in Harrisson County was 1829 He bought it from James Samuels who was probably his uncle.
Also Robert Samuels and John Samuels Jr pleaded guilty to Assualt and Battery Feb. 1819 crawford county, IN
