Looking for info on Devotion Sanderlin, born ca 1760 in North Carolina (Camden County area). His parents, I believe, were Joseph and Mary Sanderlin. Siblings were James, Joseph, Ezekiel, Maximillian and Mary. Devotion Sanderlin married a widow, Sarah Staples Williams. They had a son, Malachi.
Malachi Sanderlin married a woman named Annis and had four children: Devotion, Robert, Sarah Staples Sanderlin Simmons, and Joseph Allen Sanderlin. The family moved to Vigo County, Indiana, in the 1830's and some of them later moved to Phillips County, Arkansas.
Joseph Allen Sanderlin moved to Memphis, TN, and married Evaline J. Fleming in 1845. They moved to Phillips County, AR, and had 5 children: George, Joseph Allen, Martha Sanderlin Boardman, Malachi F. and James Wilson Sanderlin (possibly James H. or even John). Joseph Allen Sanderlin died in 1855 and Evaline remarried to Thomas Roach in 1860.
James Wilson Sanderlin moved to the Prairie/Lonoke County, AR, area and married Laura Frances Burns in 1882. They had 3 children that lived to maturity: Warren Clark Sanderlin (1890-1987), Ada J. Sanderlin (1894-ca 1920, she was married) and Myrtle Alley Sanderlin Griffin (1897-1972). James Wilson Sanderlin died in 1898 in Lonoke, AR.
