Am interested in the ancestry of my great-great grandmother, Sarah Elizabeth Sanders Smith (ca. 1805-ca. 1868), born in SC, died in Laurens County, GA. Married in 1823 in McIntosh County, GA to Hugh Uriah Kinchen of Laurens County, GA. Her parents were Thomas Henry Smith and possibly Rachel Moore. Her grandparents were James Lawrence Smith (1728-1792) and possibly his first wife, married 1755, Sarah Ladson (ca. 1723-1760). His second wife (m. 1763) was Margaret Moore Sanders (1738-1790).
The children of James Lawrence Smith by Sarah Ladson were possibly: Elizabeth m. John Smith;
Sarah Sanders (d. before 1807) m. 1795 in SC to Jacob Wood of Georgia; Thomas Henry m. Rachel Moore (?); and Martha (1758-1760)
By Margaret Moore Sanders the children were possibly: William (1764-1843) m. Elizabeth Wilson;
James (1766-1854) of Liberty and McIntosh County, GA m. Seymour West; Elizabeth Mary Anne (1775-1831) m. Thomas McCall (1764-1840) of SC and GA; (??)Ann Rutledge (1779-1877) m. McKamie Mew
