Judy,

Clarence was my Uncle. I remember him well. His wife was Vera Brown. She and my mother were very good friends. Clarence was my father's brother. His parents were James Meakin Sanders and Mary Eliza Todd. They had the following children. Alta Clyde Sanders, b. Jan 23, 1890 in Murfreesboro, TN, married Harry Williams. They had one daughter Mary Hazel Williams who was both my cousin since she was my father's neice and she married my mother's brother William Pryor. Aunt Hazel died a few years ago. Aunt Alta died in July 1977 in Oklahoma.
Bertha Myrtle Sanders, b. April 17, 1892, married E. J. Harris July 28, 1910. I am not sure what year she died.
Floyd Washington Sanders, b. March 15, 1895; died Sept 5, 1944; married Lacy Phillips Sept 2, 1919.
Forest Dewey Sanders, b. June 20, 1898; married Gladys Ponder. (Uncel Forest and Aunt Gladys had no children but they did adopt one of Glady's sisters daughter).
Hubert Clarence Sanders, your grandfather was born June 5, 1901 and died in March 1971 in Texas.
James William Sanders (Willie), my father was born May 5, 1904 in Murfreesboro, TN and died April 26, 1968in Atlanta Georgia. Since I am the youngest in my family (66)I don't remember very much about Uncle Clarenc's children. The last time I saw him was at my father's funeral. We buried my father in Indianola, Oklahoma. I know that he had a son named Ellis Glenn and a daughter Mary Ellen. I can ask my brother because he is the oldest and he would remember more. I do know that Uncle Clarence also was a warden in a prison in Oklahoma.

Margaret Sanders
