Hi Richard,
That was excellent and I do thank you for your information. Now I know that Otho went to Iowa. Also that his brother Otto and a sister were still living still alive in 1940.
I wonder if any of them knew what happened to their parents. I just can't find them buried in Mercer Co.,IL.
I notice that you didn't have a military record for Alexander and I thought I found him in the 31st IN Inf. Co. A and he had left in 1862 with a disability. The reason I think it is this Alex is because the name Geralda is listed as a minor on his pension card on Ancestry.com.
Our museum is working on Civil War soldiers who have died in Mercer Co. We try to learn about the families also and put in a notebook with the information about the soldier.
I am in Arizona for the winter so when I get back to Mercer Co.IL where I retired, I hope to find out some information. I also wonder if you have found the name Gibson in any of your research. I started working on this family because I am trying to prove that Lucy was the daughter of Martin and Ann Gibson of New Boston, IL. They were also in Hamilton Co.,IN earlier. I have more on that if you are interested.
All for now but I may have some more questions.
Thanks again, Best Wishes, Kathy Coe
