Joseph Foster Sanders of Maine
Posted by: Kendal Merrill (ID *****6800) Date: March 29, 2010 at 06:51:38

I'm looking for information about my 4x great-grandfather, Joseph Foster Sanders and his wife, Jane McClellan Patten. All the info I have on them is below.

Joseph Foster Sanders
b. 4/10/1812 Palermo, Waldo Co., Maine
d. 12/24/1898 Kennebec Co., Maine
m. 4/3/1834 China, Maine
Jane McClellan Patten
b. 9/29/1811 Topsham, Maine
d. 9/20/1887 Kennebec Co., Maine

Children of Joseph and Jane:
1. Eliza Sweet Sanders (2/9/1835 Palermo, ME 0 1/17/1862 Hallowell, ME) m. 1/17/1858 Augusta, Kennebec Co., ME to John Wesley Cross
2. Lydia Maria Sanders (ca. 1838 Dixmont, ME - 1883) m. 4/14/1856 to George Hamlin
3. Joseph Foster Sanders (ca. 1839 - 1/9/1842)
4. Nellie Phoebe Sanders (1844 - 1932) m. Unknown Dunton
5. Charles H. Sanders (ca. 1850 - ???)
6. Kelsey Hugh Sanders (??? - 1861)

Note: Charles and Kelsey might be the same person. Census records are hard to read.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I know nothing about Jane's parents. A tip from another researcher says Joseph's parents may be James Sanders and Lydia Foster.
