William Sanders of Tallapoosa Co. Alabama

SEEKING information on and/or contact with living family members of WILLIAM SANDERS, an early settler in Tallapoosa County, Alabama. He was the first white owner after the Creek Cession of some of the land along the Tallapoosa River below where Martin Dam is today. He established the Sanders Ferry, which crossed the river about a mile below the dam, about 1838.This ferry eventually became known as the Double Bridges Ferry, and was purchased by my great great grandfather, David Lawson Burson, in November of 1871. Any help on this man will be appreciated.
