Hi Ronald - thanks for responding. Is the Hitchity Creek area on the Ft. Benning grounds or accessible to anyone? Would like to go there, and living in the Atlanta area would be a short trip. Have been through the area before visiting Richland, Stewart Co. where George W. Alston's family once lived - Peter Alston and Martha King his parents. Unfortunately we have not been able to connect our Alston nor King lineages, but still working on it.

Really interested in the church record for Elizabeth Sanders. Is this something online or should I go to the GA State Archives here in the Atlanta area?

I do have my tree posted at ancestry.com, Knox/Alston Family Tree. I have a picture there of George W. my gg grandfather dating to about 1855 as well as his and Elizabeth's marriage license. If you are not able to visit it let me know and I can send an invitation if you need me to. Thanks again, Larry McClain, larkmcc@aol.com
