SPRINGFIELD Judith Ann Klestinski, 62, died on Tuesday (July 26, 2011) due to complications from multiple sclerosis. She had been residing for the past several years at Pleasant Hill Village Nursing Home in Girard.

Judy was born the younger of two children on March 12, 1949, to Wilford and Priscilla Sanders in Springfield. She married David Klestinski on June 9, 1973, in Rantoul.

Judy was preceded in death by both parents and her brother Harry Lee Sanders (2010).

Surviving relatives include husband Dave and daughter Sarah Jastrzebski of Springfield; son, Jonathan (Anitra) Klestinski, and grandchildren Justus, Matthias and Charley Grace of O'Fallon; sister-in-law, Barbara Sanders (Harry Lee) of Silver Spring, Md.; nephew, Gregory (Kate) Sanders of Ellicott City, Md.; two brothers-in-law; and several nephews and cousins.

Following in the footsteps of her parents, who were educators, Judy was a special education teacher with Rantoul City Schools. Among her honors, she was selected to be the special education consultant for all the K-8 schools in Rantoul in a pilot program in the early 1980s.

She earned her bachelor's degree in special education from Southern Illinois University in Carbondale and her master's degree in special education from the University of Illinois in Urbana.
