Interesting. I had previously reviewed the record of Allen Sanders, 23rd GA Inf., Co. A, on fold3.com. I will look at it again but my first impression is that even though recruits sent to the front lines would be assigned to infantry regiments of a state other than their own, there was something about the Allen Sanders in the 23rd GA that didn't fit Allen D.W. Sanders. Most likely that they gave his residence as Bartow Co. GA. Maybe they did move to Bartow Co. If I remember right, Eddy remarried in Tallapoosa Co., AL just a few years after Allen died, about 1867, I think it was. If her people were in Bartow Co., why didn't she stay there after Allen died? What connection with Bartow Co. they would have, I have no idea. That's another matter to research if all other avenues fail.
