The James Sanders mentioned in the deed of gift from his uncle Gideon Patterson is Col. James Sanders. He was the son of James Sanders Sr. and a daughter of David Patterson of New Kent County, and a sibling of Gideon Patterson. I've been working on information learned from my DNA matches with another Sanders researcher, and it appears James' mother was Ann Pattison/Patterson. Many researchers claim that James Sr. was also married to Cassandra Haiden, but we haven't found proof of that, yet. It's possible he married twice; if so, Cassandra Haiden would have been his second spouse.

I notice in a reply you made on this same thread that you descend from James Sanders of Sumner Co., TN. I descend from Frances (Fanny) Sanders who married William Sanders, a first cousin. She was the sister of Thomas Sanders, the father of your James. Since your post is now three years old I'll not go into matters any further for fear of repeating information you may now know. But we have gathered quite a bit of documented records about James' parents, grandparents and great-grandparents. Let me know if you need that information. It might be easier if you contacted me by email at . . .

Justin Sanders.
