Beverly and Justin,

Very interesting comments on the Sanders families in Lincoln County, TN. My GG Grandfather, Lee SANDERS was born in 1826 TN. He married 16 Dec 1852 Fayetteville, Lincoln Co., TN Susan BROWN, born 1832 NC. The only other proven information we have on him is the 1860 Lincoln Co.,TN Census where L. SAUNDERS, Susan, and his four sons, George 1853, Willis 1855, Stephen 1858, and James 1860 were living in SANDERS Hollow on Red Hill Rd. 1 mile SE of Molino, Lincoln Co., TN. We have since proven a 5th son, Frank Eugene SANDERS 1863 TN. George, Stephen, and James' descendants still live in the Shelby Co., and Tipton Co., TN areas whereas Frank and Willis' descendants still live in the Fayetteville, Mississippi Co., AR area.

We have a lot of information on the 5 sons and their families including pictures.

The interesting parts of the comments you mention above is the timing (1826) and location of your relatives (Lincoln Co., TN) and where they migrated to (AR). I suspect that my line descended through Captain Jessie SAUNDERS NC line. Three of his sons migrated about 1830 to Lincoln Co., TN and another through SC. By 1850, these families were migrating to AR. Most of the people living in the Molina, TN area migrated from SC.

Most researchers have Lee SANDERS' parents as Benjamin and Naomi SANDERS. They had a son William Lee SANDERS born 1824 AL but the William Lee family that the researchers claim to be my ancestor in 1875 Waco, TX does not appear be my family. Not only wrong wife but also wrong children who should have been on the 1860 Lincoln Co., TN Census.

Thanks for posting your comments. As usual, close to my ancestors but no cigar. I think that if I can prove one generation above Lee, I can connect to the more researched lines back to England.

Jerry Sanders
