The earliest one I have found was the 1890 Census for Audrain county Missouri. This is where Nancy Sanders is buried and I assume died.Smith purchased her head stone. So I am assuming he was alive and in Audrain County in a town called Farber or Laddonia.Nancy died Aug. 16, 1895.I did not find Nancy or Smith in the census only their son William and Lois Emily Barnes his wife, their son Robert Wesley, my grandfather, and Lilly a daughter I never knew they had.My Grandfather never mentioned her but she may have died young as she was about two years older.I did a search for Nancy, Smith and William for around the time I knew they should be in Kentuckybut the census was not available. They shouldbe there between 1840 and 1870.I do not know if they moved to Missouri after William was born but I do know William was born there Oct. 5, 1867.Hope you can help.
