Sandor is a Magyar (Hungarian) name, as is Ilona (= Helen). So you can probably narrow your search to the "Lands of the Hungarian Crown", i.e., the Hungarian side of the Austro-Hungarian empire. These lands extended into Slovakia that I am aware of... I don't know what all the boundaries were, but my only Sandor family came from southern Slovakia -- the only part of Czechoslovakia in which the name is found with any regularity.
