JOHN SANDRIDGE WILL(Proven 17 Sep 1832)
I desire my property be divided into 10 equal parts, one-tenth goes to my friend John Barrett, and my son Dabney Sandidge as trust for benefit of my daughter Lucy Higgason and her children during her life of Lucy’s husband. After the death of Lucy’s husband, the trust will be conveyed to Lucy by John Barrett and Dabney Sandidge. If Lucy does not survive her husband, the Estate goes to her children; one-tenth part goes to my friend John Barrett and my sons John W. Sandidge and Micajah C. Sandidge in trust for my daughter Sarah Lasley during the life of her husband to be conveyed to Sarah. If Sarah dies before her husband, then the Estate goes to her children.

The other 8 equal parts to my children Ann Edwards, Pleasant Sandidge, Henrietta Golder, Christopher Sandidge, Aaron B. Sandidge, Dabney Sandidge, Micajah C. Sandidge, and John W. Sandidge. The land and slaves are not to be sold unless there’s no way to be equally divided. If necessary to sell then 6 slaves are not to be sold, Cooper and wife, Dinah, Joshua, Sousy, Betty, and Hannah are faithful servants to me and are advanced in years. Each shall have the privilege of choosing a master of any of my six sons. If any shall be proven of no value, then a maintenance fund is to be set up. Some of my children have already received advancements.
Exor: Son Pleasant Sandidge, Christopher Sandidge, Aaron B. Sandidge
Wit: C. Tompkins, Stephen Biggs, Barthalomew Curry, Henry Vanover, Reuben Boston.

Codicil 25 Feb 1827: Forty yards square of ground including the graves of my wife and mother on the farm on which I now live shall be used for the family burying ground.
