The members of the Sandusky mail list suspect that Louvisa Sandusky was a daughter of Anthony Hornback and his wife Margaret.Margaret married second to Samuel Sandusky (brother of James) and Anthony's three children apparently took the Sandusky name as their's.Samuel mentions the 3 children of his wife but not by name in his will.
some notes:
1.Levisey2 Hornback(Anthony1)She married William Rails.
Notes for Levisey Hornback:

The next one on Anderson's list of lost children is Livesey, orLivery. Sandusky. In the marriage records of Bourbon County, Kentucky, the name of the groom is spelled William Rails in the index but Bails in the book.Actually, it might be Rains. Whatever spelling is correct, L. is probably a step-daughter of Samuel Sandusky and a half-sister of the Sandusky sisters who married the Proctor brothers. In his will, probated in 1803, Samuel Sandusky mentioned three younger children of his second wife, Margaret Hornbach, but doesn't give
their names. In other words, L ....... was the daughter of Anthony and Margaret Hornbach, and evidently adopted the Sandusky name when her mother married Samuel Sandusky.

Patrick (and Sandusky List),
I am also very interested in the "lost daughters" of your earlier message. In particular, I am trying to find the ancestry of:
Rails, William md Sandusky, Levisey 20 Aug 1793 in Bourbon Co KY
I think that is a very interesting theory that you propose that James Sadowsky (Sandusky) had an earlier wife than Mary Brown. If he was married before, wouldn't that likely have taken place in Virginia (now West Virginia) because that was where he was from?
William Rayl and Louvisa moved on to Indiana and settled in Switzerland County.
Any new information about this family would be appreciated!

The presence of a Saint Duskie family may indicate that this Levisa is not from the polish Sadaoswki family

I am a 20 yr Rayle family researcher and am trying to clear up who Louvisa Sandusky is, too.I know where William Rayle family comes from, but Louivsa is a real problem.Have noted that Louvisa has also been called "Duskie" in some documents.Joe Berg has been in touch with me about this.I go to the LA Family History Library every Tuesday (Not today due to the usual holiday gridlock) and I have begun a Dusky family research which is at a dead-end at the moment due to the 1800 KY census film not being available there.I found an Abijah Dusky in 1800 KY Harrison Co. census. He was not shown in 1790, 1810 KY census nor are any other Duskys. In 1820 OH Hamilton Co. there is Eli Dusky & James Dusky; Highland Co 2 John Duskys. There is hope we can clear her parents up with a little help.Jean
