Richard and Elizabeth [BOWLES] IL - A Real Poser
16 Oct 1873, about one year after Richard SAPPINGTON's death his wife and executrix, Lizzie, filed a petition to sell land from his estate with the court in Madison Co. In said petition she names each of her surviving children as well as the daughter of her deceased son Anderson SAPPINGTON.
Here's the rub. She also names three other individuals, Elizabeth A McROBERTS and her husband Charles, Edward NIX and Samuel NIX.
None of these folks fit into the existing family and I know that I'm not missing any childen from Lizzie's will. Any ideas out there?
