I suppose it is possible. The earliest Sard I have been able to find was John Sard(e)who was living in Annapolis, Maryland. He married Eleanor Fisher 12/22/1720 according to the book Maryland Marriages 1634-1777 by Robert Barnes.

The little research I have done, shows a line of Sards that arrived during the great migrations. If I remember correctly they come into New York. Sorry but I didn't keep any particulars on that line.
