hello, im christopher sarhtou gloria, my great grandmother is Theresa Sarthou who married Benancio Pondon. They had 6 children (4G, 2B), all but one of their children used Sarthou as their surname (i dont know the reason for that), but the eldest son Antonio used Pondon as surname (i think he is in the USA). My grandfather was the late Jose Efrain Sarthou. A few months back a certain Manuel Sarthou called our residence (checked names at a phone directory) and was asking if we knew a certain Sarthou that had information about the origin of the Sarthous here in the Philippines. He also said that the Sarthou that came to the Philippine was originally from France and was a nobility in Spain. He was said to have been instructed by the Queen of Spain to intervene in the growing revolution in the Philippines in 1896 as a result of the writings of Jose Rizal. He also said that he (Manuel) already have the family history and that he is looking for the "coat of arms" brought by Sarthou here in the Philippines. I dont know if this is true, but if you have any info on this (whethere this is true or not) kindly drop a word in this forum. thanks.
