Unfortunately, there is no ancestral coat of arms for the Sarthou family that goes earlier than 1902. The one that goes around was fabricated by a Sarthou that struck it rich Paris and decided that not being from nobility, a coat of arms would be a necessity if you were to pose as a Conte de Monte Cristo. Sarthous are not nobility, the name itself states that, Sarthou stands for "Tailor" in French. Unglamorous???? You bet. But don't fear, coat of arms and the concept of days gone by which you consider "nobility" is long dead. It's fine to be a commoner, it's not like the Spaniards or anyone else for that matter would respect you more if you had a coat of arms.
