Various Sasser family lines
Are all the Sassers who are interested in family
history represented by the five Sasser lines shown on
the Sasser Surname DNA Project page?
If not, who are they and is someone willing to
encourage them to join?Does anyone want to contact
people interested in genealogy who have similar
sounding surnames to see if they are related our
Sasser family?
In the next few weeks we will have the results back
for two participants who are upgrading to 37 markers.
This will indicate the structure of the relationship
between the five family lines. After that, the
project will go into a holding pattern unless there
are more participants.
If we can't find a Sasser in England or Germany to
test, we can pay attention to close matches in
www.ybase.org and www.ysearch.org.If most of the
matches tend to have ancestors from one country over
another, it may be an indication of origin. One
problem might be if ybase and ysearch have an uneven
representation of those countries.
I've found the amount of support and participation in
the Sasser project, in relation to much larger surname
and regional DNA projects, quite amazing. Thanks to
all of you.
Most sincerely, Peter
