Sue, this has been driving me crazy because I KNEW I had seen that name somewhere.
If you page way, way down in this forum (try going to Message No. 139 or 159) you will find an exchange between Joyce Thomas and Bonnie May Satterlee Giddings, which took place in June and July of 2000.I don't know if either of the Benjamin Franklins (two of them, pere et fils) they were talking about is yours, but it might be worth checking it out.
Goldie does have one Benjamin Franklyn Satterlee, b. 15 Aug 1864 in Montgomery Co., Ill., s/o Miles A Satterlee nd Sarah Ann (Kelly) Williams.(Vol. II, p. 244, p. 254.)He was m. 3 times, to Eliza "Lizzie" Mason, Marie (Ray) Ohern, and Ann "Petty" Ulrici. This Benjamin Franklyn went by "Frank."He and Lizzie had three children, Eulah b. 20 Apr 1885, an unnamed female b. 29 Nov 1887, and Irvan "Irby" b. 22 Sep 1889, d. 17 Feb 1902.
The Benjamin Franklins that Joyce and Bonnie May were talking about were from an area adjacent to Montgomery Co., Ill. There is a raft of Satterlees from that area, descendants of two brothers, Miles A. and Simeon G., whose parentage is uncertain but who are believed to be sons of Asa Satterlee, the oldest son of Gideon and Ruth Bentley Satterlee.
Don't know if any of this is any use!!
