I have come across this couple before. They are listed in the Christian County, Kentucky 1850 census under Wood, John, age 65, born Virginia, House #391.I suspect it is their son Coleman Wood living in House #389, probably named after John Wood's brother who went to Greene County, Ark. I have this John Wood marrying Lucy S. Sanders Aug. 7, 1817 by Robert Coleman, justice of the peace, Christain County, Ky. Do you have that John Wood came from Spartanburg, S.C. and was the son of John Wood and Maiden Seay?, Maiden, according to family history was born in Amelia County, Va. I have been trying to trace this Wood family back to Virginia.Do you have any information on John Wood?A Wood family in Louisa and Goochland Counties married into the Johnson family.John Sanders, Sr. in his Goochland will dated 2 Oct. 1736 names his grandson, Daniel Johnson, Jr., son of Daniel Johnson, Sr.John Hide Sanders is mentioned as son of John Sanders and the will is witnessed by Bartholomew Stovall.Daniel Johnson's will dated 25 Jan. 1754 names his daughter Ursly Wood.Ursly Wood married William Wood, Sr. of Louisa County, Virginia whose roots were probably in Goochland County.I would like to know if there is a possible connection with the William Wood, Sr. family of Louisa County with the John Wood and Maiden Seay family of Spartanburg, S.C. Please let me know if you have found any more information on Lucy Saunders. Thanks in advance.Joyce
