Carteret County is in North Carolina.

Do you know if this Samuel Sanders is the son of Samuel Saunders and Anna Gordon?

Are you a descendant of Samuel Saunders and Anna Gordon?

The William Rhodes in the 1800 Edgefield Dist. Census is too young to be Jesse's father.

Jesse in the 1820 Census might not be my Jesse. Unless some kin folks are living with him. I have a Cousin who thinks this is Jesse first wife. No. Jesse was married only once. If he was married before Nancy. She would not be able to get a pension or land.

After I started searching data on Jesse the next thing I know they were coming out of the wood work. On top of that one was married to a Nancy!

Checking the deeds in Edgefield Dist. found Jesse and a James Rhodes witnessing several deeds together. James Rhodes had land adjoining James Carson. Couldn't connect James to Jesse.

In 1821 Jesse sold 85 acres but I haven't been able to find when he received this land.

Looks like DNA Testing is just as hard as finding a paper trail.
