Searching for letters, journals, and other personal and public documents referencing the life and military service of Corp. Jeremiah Saunders, who served in Company K of the 124th U.S. Colored Infantry during the Civil War. Born a slave in Woodford, Kentucky, about 1839, he survived the war, returned to Kentucky, and died in 1882. His wife, Emily, survived him. His nickname was "Garry" or "Jerry." His name is also spelled "Sanders."

Any and all help appreciated!
