The only thing anyone seems to know for sure is that Catherine and Edmee Lejeune did live with the Indians. What this tells me is that even if they were not of indian blood they must of been adopted or were captives of the natives at that time. Considering it was in the early 1600 hundreds it is possible.
Has anyone found proof as to whether Catherine and Edmee were born in France or Canada? Is there a ship's list that said they came to Canada abroad a ship or is this speculation as well?
We have to remember that most ships that came to Canada or America during that time were mostly filled with men. Very few women came. Ex. I read that one ship of 92 passengers, only 11 were women and children.
The other question is.... Why do some descendants of Catherine Lejeune show aboriginal DNA, while others show none. This tells me that there may be children that were adopted. Adoptions between the 1600's and the early 1900's hundreds were notregistered adoptions so it is possible that we may have descendants that are not blood related and there may not be any proof as to who the children belonged too.
