Alexander Sayers, who had a son named Robert, may have Patented land near Col. John Buchanan on Reedy Creek in 1753. This may have been in Wythe Co. or at least a neighboring county. John also had a number of Patents in SW VA along Indian River and Woods River.
John's mother was reported to be Jean Sayers. Is she related to Alexander? I'd like to prove these connections.
This is from Chalkley's vol. 1:
AUGUST, 1765 (A). Buchanan vs. Sayers. --Robert Sayers, eldest son and heir-at-law of Alexr. Sayers, deceased. May, 1765. Returned: "The boy is in Bedford at school."
ORDER BOOK No. XIV. AUGUST 18, 1769 (2) John Buchanan vs. Robt. Sayers.--Death of plaintiff abates.
I'd like to hear from anyone who has ties to the Buchanans.
