I don't know if the enclosed information will help or even make sense, but here goes!
My wife's mother (Rose Lily) was a Sayers, her father was John Thomas Sayers and her grandfather was Charles Sayers, brother to Tom Sayers.
My wife has, over the years, researched the life of Tom Sayers. Tom had two children Sara and Tom. Sarah married George Mensley in 1866 in Newcastle and had ten children. She died in 1891 aged forty years.
Tom Sayers Jnr went to Australia and in 1885 married Annie O'Brien from NSW. They had three children, two girls and a boy. In 1895 all the children died of scarlet fever. The parents came to England where they died in 1936.
From this information one must conclude, and indeed my mother-in-law said there are no direct descendents of Tom Sayers.

Good luck with your search, Peter Chatterton.
