You mentioned previously that you are a Sayre descendant. What line?
My line (allegedly): Thomas>>Job>>Job>>James>>Job>>Job>>Smith A.>>Job or brother>>Robert>>Robert, Jr.>>Me
Smith A. is Smith Archibald Sayre (or Archibald Smith re: Banta (1901)). My initial suspicion was Smith's son William King Sayre (1866-1907), who died from injuries sustained in a mining accident near Wickenburg, AZ. That was told to me by my grandfather (1906-1993) before his passing. But it could have been a convenient story ("Your daddy got run over by a train") to cover up the illegitimate birth of my grandfather, fathered by one of the other brothers, perhaps by Job Smith Sayre who was likely the closest in proximity to my great-grandmother.
