Hi Suzanna, I managed to get a copy of the coroner's report on the death of Samuel, from the S.C. archives. It confirms the circumstances and manner of his death.

I have Samuel Branch as the son of Luther and Abigail (nee unk.) from Rutland Vt. Samuel Branch married Elizabeth Wilson. Along with Frances "Fannie" Branch Quein, 1836-9/12/1868, I have William b. 1838 (your line?), Mary Ann, and Sarah.

After Samuel's death in 1840, Elizabeth Wilson Branch married an individual named John E. Navy (or Navey). They moved to Augusta, Ga.

Frances "Fannie" Branch married John C. Quein. John was a master carpenter originally from Honey Brook, Chester Co. Pa. They had 3 sons born in Augusta, Ga. Sometime during the CIvil War the family moved to Urbana, Ohio.

Could you share what you have on your line of William Alexander with me? The Branch's were an interesting family. I know that two brothers of Samuel were physicans, and that one later moved to Florida. They also took part in the coroners inquest for their brother Samuel Branch.

Thanks, Jim Turner
