Abstracted from the Augusta Chronicle.
Clifton C. Eagle was a member of The Bath Masonic Lodge. Member of the Langley Methodist Church. A member of the Woodmen of the World. A native of Graniteville, SC. At one time he operated his own store, but at the time of his death Mr. Eargle was an employee of Aiken Stores, Inc. He died at his residence after a brief illness of one week on February 12, 1942. Survivors include his widow, Iola Jowers Eargle; one son, Dr. Edwin E. Eargle of St. Petersburg, Florida; one daughter, Mrs. T. D. Farmer of Langley and her son Edwin Farmer; sisters, Mrs. Nellie Shealey of Columbia, Miss Ella Eargle of Graniteville, Mrs. Beulah Counch of Graniteville, and Mrs. Mae bandy (married to Dewey Hobson Bandy, Sr. 5-4-1899 - 5-7-1937) of Graniteville; brothers, Lonnie Eargle, Gaffney, SC., Leroy Eargle, Plant City, Florida; Wilbur Eargle of Orangeburg, SC and Grady Eargle of Graniteville. Funeral services at the Langley Methodist Church. Interment in the Graniteville Cemetery, Graniteville, SC.
Just passing along an obituary. I am kin to Mrs. Mae Bandy (Clifton C. Eargle sister)from this obit by her being married to Dewey Hobson Bandy,Sr.
Dewey Hobson, Sr. and Mae Bandy children are Miriam bandy born 1920 and Dewey Hobson Bandy, Jr. born 6-20-1922 and died in San Diego, California on 2-21-1987. Dewey Hobson Bandy, Sr. is the son of John Fulton Bandy (5-29-1865 - 7-12-1934)and Ella Sophonia Franklin (7-1-1867 - 8-10-1963). Other children of John Fulton Bandy and Ella Sophonia Franklin were: Corrie Ella Bandy (8-15-1885 - 6-12-1975); John Fulton Bandy,Jr. (3-1894 - 4-25-1958, Miami,Florida); Leila Bandy (born 8-15-1896 - 7-16-1988); Leroy Bandy (3-27-1903- 12-14-1932); Hughie W. Bandy (7-5-1907- 4-6-1995); Katie Bandy (10-1-1887 - 10-7-1889); Georgia Ann Bandy (10-13-1890 - 10-17-1890); Essie Mae Bandy ( 11-24-1891 - 11-12-1892); Grady Bandy (4-9-1902 - 6-5-1902); Infant Twin Bandy (1-19-1906 - 1-20-1906); Twin Platt Bandy (1-19-1906 - 2-5-1906)Nell Loraine Bandy (1-14-1911-2005)
