I am hoping to find a Bass family (perhaps James Bass?) from this area who had a son named Redding. Redding Bass moved on to Cherokee County, GA. He may have migrated with members of the Ward, Timmons, Brookes or Lay families.
Redding appears to have been born between 1810 and 1811. Anderson, SC is the only specific place he gave as being from.
He had these Known children:
Susan/Caroline b.1842
Malinda Azalia b. 1843
James David Redding b. 1846
Nancy Rebecca b. 1848
Charles Freeman b. 1853
Anderson T. b. 1854
2 additional daughters may belong from a 1st marriage:
Elizabeth Francis b. 1839
Mary Ann b. ?
Many people believe his name was James Redding Bass.
I believe his 1st son was named James after Redding's father and David after Elizabeth Lay's (known) father.
Any ideas would be appreciated.
