I am hoping that some kind soul might be willing to look to see if the ship passenger list is available for the snow Anne which arrived in the Port of Charleston, SC on or just before 1 Oct 1753 from Rotterdam, Holland under ship master Capt. ORR. The Anne cleared customs and was cleared to depart for Maryland on about 29 Oct 1753. While I am quite certain that my fourth great grandfather, Johann Paul TRAUT, schuster (master shoe maker) and wife Anna Katherina were on board the Anne, I am trying to determine if other TRAUT family members were also on the ship’s manifest. I am anticipating Pauly’s younger brother Johann Dorst TRAUT and sister Christina Luisa TRAUT, all from Saarbrücken, Saarland, Germany, were also onboard the Anne. I am hoping to obtain a copy of the full passenger list (perhaps 125 souls), plus any other incidental names such as the full name of Capt. ORR, or incidental details about the origins of the passengers, the voyage, etc. It appears that my fourth great grandfather, Johann Paul TRAUT and wife jumped their bond of indenture to Charleston planter Patrick HINDS, and immediately left for the Lancaster, PA region. Albeit 256 years tardy, I offer the family’s apologies to the descendants of Patrick HINDS! I am willing to pay all reasonable copy and research fees. Please contact me directly at craigtrout@aol.com to make payment arrangements. Thank you in advance for your very kind assistance, Craig H.
