Thanks for the information.
Just in case others don't know, there were at least THREE JOHN J. REYNOLDS!
On the 1860 census for Darlington County, SC, John J. Reynolds age 46 married to Cynthia age 38. As you mentioned this is the one I was looking for.
The second John J. Reynolds on this same 1860 census was age 35 and married to Elizabeth age 38. I am told she was a MIMS.
They had at least seven children according to this census.
A THIRD John J. Reynolds on the 1860 census was age 10, and a son of Mitchell age 35, and Mary E. Reynolds age 33.
I hope this helps those who are sorting out their Reynolds in Darlington.
