Ron, Here is what I have on the sings: Private C.C. Sing Darlington, South Carolina The Pee Dee Light Artillery arrived at James Island SC on June 17, 1864 after trading assignments with Company C, Manigualt’s Battalion, SC Siege Train. The battery was so crippled by a depletion of men, that they traded assignments in hopes of recruiting more men so as to be able to serve as a light artillery battery. At the age of 18, Private Sing enlisted into the Pee Dee Light Artillery on July 7, 1864 while the battery was stationed at James Island SC. His name does not appear on the list of those paroled at the end of the war in April 1865, but records indicate him present at the last muster of the battery in January 1865.
