Thank you for the info. I had come across this earlier as well, but was not sure. Would you know perhaps any information on his father George W? I'm particularly trying to find out if he was a Civil War veteran. I found two George W's in the Civil War database at NARA, one in the 9th SC Infantry, who I think is the younger George W. he listed as 16 in 1862 (father listed as Jason in 1860 Census) and another George W. listed as enlisting at Darlington in 1862 and serving with the 6th SC Cavalry. There is no age listed with the 2nd service record. Any help on George W's parents would be great as well.
