Georgianna A. Stroble, born March 7, 1845, died August 17, 1925 at her home in St. George, SC, was my ggg aunt. She was the daughter of David Strobel, born about 1803, died before 1860, and Sarah A. Spell, born Christmas Day in the year 1818 and died May 10, 1886 in St. George.
Georgianna's sister, Mary Ann C. Stroble was my gg grandmother and was married to John M. Hussey, also of St. George. John M. Hussey and Mary Ann C. Stroble were cousins, that is, John's maternal grandmother was David Strobel's older sister, Anne Elizabeth Strobel who married John Reddick Moorer, Jr. These were the children of Albert Strobel and Elizabeth Bowman, Elizabeth being the daughter of Jacob Bowman and Catherine Carn, the daughter of Lewis Carn and Catherina Elizabeth Strobel. Catherina Elizabeth was the sister to Albert Strobel's father, Casper Strobel.
Another sister, Elizabeth Barbary Stroble, died unwed in the home of Georgianna A. Stroble Beagling in 1923.
These sisters were very very close from what information I have seen. There was at least one brother, Jonas Durant Stroble, born July 28, 1842 in St. George and died February 15, 1925 in Graniteville, SC. Brother Jonas was a member of the 1st SC Cav. as was his brother-in-law, John M. Hussey. John died at Gettysburg. There are living descendants of Jonas still living in SC.
