I am trying to find the father of Arthur Prince. (born between 1879 and 1881) I have reason to believe that his father may be Jerry (Jeremiah) Prince (born approx 1843). According to his marriage record of 1891 at the Charleston County Library, Jerry was born in Florence SC.
Due to his age at the time of his marriage to Amelia Smalls in 1891...I believe that he may have been married prior to this marriage..... and married in Florence County. This would be the marriage that produced Arthur Prince.
I find Arthur and Jerry later in Charleston County living close to each other ...and then I find Arthur's son Ernest living at the same residence that Jerry occupied at one time. Coincidence?????
So...Im trying to find any type of records such as a marriage record for Jerry Prince...or a birth record for Arthur Prince in Florence County. In need of some kind of proof that Jerry is the father of Arthur. Being the 1890 census was destroyed and early marriage records and birth records of Charleston County are slim to none...this is very hard to prove. Any assistance is appreciated.
