Hi Charles,
Thank you for your replies concerning Cudbeth Stone. I believe you are correct that Cuthbert is my Cudbeth. His name is so unusual that it was spelled so many ways it's hard to search them all. I just this week found the reference you sent and have sent off to the SC Archives for the record. I really appreciate your reply. If you have any additional information on how I might find more information (marriage, birth of child, etc.) for this time period in and around the 96 Dist., Greenville area, etc. I would love to hear from you.
I have also tracked he and his family on their moves up to NC and then finally into the Floyd County, KY area where he passed away. My biggest gaps, of course, are the earlier time period.
