Looking for information on:

D. D. Dumas was born possibly in probably Greenville District of South Carolina; he married unknown.

D. D. Dumas had a son:

1) Benjamin Dumas born before 1853.

In a letter to son James Pinkney Dumas dated June 10, 1853 written from Fayette County, Alabama where Elhannon was living with his son E. B. M and family: “Your brother D.D. was with us, left here 15th of April, got home safe. Him and his son Benjamin are well and doing well.

D. D. Dumas' parents were:
Elhannon Winchester Dumas (also known as E. W. Dumas, some say Elhanan) was born in 1779 (some say 1778) in Richmond County, North Carolina. He died September 1859 in Fayette County, Alabama at the age 80 years; he married Elizabeth ‘Eliza’ D. Brashier (some say Brasher or Brashear) – they married before 1804 in Montgomery, Montgomery County, Alabama. She was born about 1796 in Greenville District (County), South Carolina and she died April 21, 1835 in Fayette County, Alabama (some say Mississippi) at the age 39 years, leaving him a widower for 34 years. They had 12 children in about 17 years and in 1835 the youngest would have been 13 or under.

Any help with this family would be appreciated,
