Jerred Menton Roberts in Richland County, maybe born in Kershaw County. First wife was Mattie with child Willie T. (b. abt. 1898) and Irene Roberts (b. abt. 1902) (Married about 1895 in Kershaw county in 1900. Second marriage to Irene or Mae Irene Dabbs. She died in 1936 was born abt. 1899. They had a son, Joseph Roberts born in 1933, who was orphaned (Carolina Children's Home) when she died along with his siblings Franklyn, John and Jerry Jr. Jerry was the oldest and Joseph the youngest. Jerred Menton was born June 27, 1878 and died July 29, 1952. He is buried in Elmwood Cemetery, Columbia, SC. Jerred could have had two brothers Martin and John although not sure of the ages, I suspect younger. Jerred also later married Carrie Lee Gilbert.
I have found a William and Emma (Emmer) Roberts (Kershaw County Census 1880)that had J.M Roberts age 5 in 1880, dates not correct but have found that to be so in census listings. I would like to find Jerred's parents.
Any help with this family would be appreciated.
